letter

Dear You,

Did you know that it's raining outside
and I can't understand what I'm feeling?
I wrote you the same letters until I knew them by heart
but somehow I forget them every time I mean to say them.

I can't form coherent thoughts anymore.
Words come out twisted like metal on the highway:
random mays without an a, and typos like kissing when I'm only kidding.
How can I cram together a sentence when every three thoughts is you?

I want to write you about love and devotion,
but all I get are letters, words that only paint a picture
when I'm trying to tell you a story.

Once upon a time,
there was a little girl who fell in love.
Now she's a young woman
who doesn't want to get up.

All my Love,
Me
